Scope and Contents:
The Division of Child Welfare, created in about 1943, served as an umbrella agency for various bureaus concerned with attendance, health, social work, services to handicapped children, and related areas. The series includes two major reports from the 1940s, on the Bureau of Attendance and the programs in Health Education, as well as a manual for attendance staff (1954) and a study of “pupil personnel services” (ca. 1964).
