Scope and Contents: Maximilian Moss served as a member of the Board of Education from 1946 to 1953 and as the board’s president from 1949 to 1953. In 1950 a large group of postcards were addressed to him protesting the Board’s actions regarding the status of the New York City Teachers Union (the so-called Timone Resolution, based on the perception of the union as communist controlled).
