Mayor Koch Congressional and 1977 Mayoral campaign papers
Description
Accession consists of correspondence, memos, reports, staff notes, press releases, interview or debate transcripts, and miscellaneous types of records relating to Koch's congressional career and his successful 1977 campaign for the Office of Mayor of New York City. Much of the "congressional" material dispersed throughout the collection relates to election and re-election campaigns. Files are those of Ronay Menschel (who became Deputy Mayor for Intergovernmental Relations in the Koch administration). Menschel was an "administrative aide" to Congressman Koch. Her position in his campaign was not determined by preliminary inventory. Some material may be file of J. Capalino (also on Koch's staff). The accession contains considerable material on the Beame-Koch transition. Arranged alphabetically.
