Mayor's Office of Intergovernmental Relations budget files for 1978 to 1982

Description

The accession consists of memoranda, correspondence, reports, press releases, staff notes, news clippings, and other materials illustrating the role of Patricia E. (Patti) Harris, the Mayor's Liaison to Washington D. C. in the City's planning and strategy sessions concerning the implementation of the City's interests in the Federal budgets of FY (fiscal year) 1979 and 1980 and the effect of those budgets on the city budget. Although much of the material is machine copied, many of the memoranda and letters have annotations by Harris and other high level officials involved in the negotiations such as James Brigham, Director of the Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget. Although Harris had become an Assistant to the Mayor by September 1981, she appears to have continued doing the same kind of work.
