Plans for the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge for 1930 to 1979
Description
The accession consists of correspondence, daily reports, bid contracts, blueprints, plans, photographs, and other material that relates to the maintenance, restoration, repairs and reconstruction performed on the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge. The bulk of the records are from the 1950s and seem to be the files of Ted (Theodore) Mombelly, Engineer. Included also are daily time books and daily work journals. The department has gone through many changes in title, however, and a majority of the records are from the Department of Public Works.
