Description

Sara Kellerman, appointed Commissioner of Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcoholism Services in 1980, had been Acting Commissioner since 1979, with responsibilities for the planning, contracting, monitoring and evaluation of all local mental health services. The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, reports, notes, clippings and printed material. Correspondence is with the Mayor and other members of the administration, the department's Chief Counsel, public officials, affiliated service providers and City and State regulatory and advisory bodies. The records are arranged in alphabetical order by subject or proper name, and thereunder chronologically by month and year. The chronological correspondence can be found under "C".
