Description

The accession consists of bound volumes of dockets containing handwritten information about court cases in Brooklyn. The information includes docket number, complainant's name and address, defendant's name, address, sex, age, race, nativity, nature, date and process of complaints, arresting officer, precinct and date, plea, fine, disposition, attorney, bondsman, Special Sessions number and sometimes magistrate and remarks. The volumes are arranged by Jurisdiction, either District Number, or by special title of the court, and thereunder chronologically as follows: 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, Adolescent, Afternoon, Bail, Felony, Gamblers, Homicide, Municipal Term, Probation, Weekend, War Emergency, and Women's.
