Description

The Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DOITT) is responsible for the City's effective utilization of existing and emerging voice, video (including Crosswalks, the City's cable TV network), and data technologies and administering franchises and agreements in these areas. It functioned under other agencies, 1981-1993. Martin Cintron served as Assistant, and later Associate, Commissioner for Telecommunications Services from 1995 or 1996 on. The accession consists of reports, correspondence, memoranda, legal papers, regulatory material, notes, printed materials, and clippings. It is arranged in alphabetical and chronological/alphabetic sequences. It contains substantial material from the Commissioner. The accession incorporated some material from Thomas Dunleavy and other departmental staff who served before.
