Description

The accession consists of microfilm of bound dockets containing handwritten information about cases referred to the Appellate Term of the Supreme Court from the Court of Special Sessions in the First Judicial Department covering New York (Manhattan) and Bronx counties. It continues the level of appeal of the accession "Appeals from Judgment of City Magistrates." Each entry consists of the appeal number (within each county, by year), the appellant's name, the original judgment, the date of that judgment, the date of notice of appeal, the judgment and the date of judgment of the appellate court, and the appellate justices presiding. Entries are arranged numerically by appeal number. Each volume contains an alphabetical index by appellant's name. Microfilmed by the Archives. Arranged chronologically.
