Counsel to the Mayor, Patrick F.X. Mulhearn correspondence files for 1983 to 1984
Description
Patrick F.X. Mulhearn served as Counsel to the Mayor in the Koch Administration for six years beginning in 1983. Dean L. Silverberg served as Deputy Counsel to the Mayor during Mulhearn’s tenure. The accession consists of two sets of correspondence files, one set of subject correspondence files, and three folders of time sheets. Boxes 1-3 contain correspondence arranged alphabetically by the surname of the correspondent. The files contain 1984 correspondence only and consist largely of mail which came into the Mayor’s office concerning a legal, judicial, criminal justice/police and similar matters, which letters were then referred to the Counsel’s office for reply. Replies, Correspondence Services Unit’s tracking sheets, and staff notes and memoranda are generally also included. Box 4 contains Silverberg’s chronological correspondence for May-November 1983. The box also contains a small group of 1983-1984 subject files, each relating to a specific legal case or investigation issue. There are also three folders of timesheets for employees of the Counsel’s office.
