Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden press digests for 1988 to 2001

Description

The accession consists of photocopies of news clippings assembled daily for the Borough President. These press digests represent all the major daily New York City newspapers, other periodicals, and ethnic and special interest publications. Articles represent topics of interest to the Borough President in Brooklyn, the City, and the State. There is a list attached to each day summarizing, by topic, the events and stories of the day. This list is divided into two broader headings: Brooklyn; and City and State. The articles are arranged in the order the topics are listed. There is no other indexing other than the daily listing of topics. The press digests replaced the usual scrapbooks (filled with clippings) maintained by elected officials during their administration. Though the material dates from circa 1980 to 1994, there are gaps. Arranged chronologically.
