Description

The Office of Comptroller was created in 1802 and the Comptroller was appointed by the Common Council. The accession consists of one handwritten bound volume. Each entry lists: delivered to (indicating which department or individual was responsible for making the payment), the warrant number for the payment, the payee, on account of (what type of service did the payee perform), and the amount. There is a summary after some years' accounts. The volume is inscribed "Accounts Audited 1812-1818." It has been rebound with canvas and the paper is in good condition. Arranged chronologically.
