Description

The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, minutes, notes, reports, bylaws, financial records, and printed material. Save Amateur Sports was a semi-independent foundation formed at Brooklyn Borough President Howard Golden's behest as a membership organization charged to help youngsters find opportunities to improve their athletic skills, promote good sportsmanship, provide expert coaches and teachers, and promote community pride in amateur athletics and raise funds to these ends. The accession was used by the Board of Directors and staff of the foundation for operational purposes and reference to various promotional activities undertaken. The organization is believed to have been dissolved in the late 1980s. Arranged alphabetically.
