The Mayor's Office of Midtown Enforcement was established in January of 1976 to improve social and economic conditions and combat crime in Times Square and vicinity. The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, legal documents, and clippings. The material describes efforts by the Office and its immediate predecessor, the Mayor's Midtown Citizens Committee, as well as New York City and New York State agencies involved in law enforcement, to undertake these activities.
