The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notices, and lists. The correspondence and memoranda, and the accession generally, concerns the many aspects of managing the examination process for Civil Service positions, including requests, authorizations, and announcements for exams to fill needed positions. The notices for examination list: date, time, location, and qualifications for job titles. The lists note successful and unsuccessful candidates for titles. The material is arranged alphabetically by job title. Information recorded on folder tabs with the title include note of the formal area of expertise needed for the title and the dates the exam was authorized, published, and carried through to create an "Eligibles" list.
