Description
Bernd Zimmermann was appointed director of the Bronx Borough President's new Planning and Development Unit in October 1988. The accession contains correspondence, memoranda, text of speeches, and other oral presentations, data and statistics, reports, notes, meeting minutes, and press clippings. Included also are architectural drawings, plans, and schematics, as well as two folders of maps and a few photographs. The majority of materials were generated between 1987-1993. After that date, most of Zimmermann's records became part of the central staff files. The accession is arranged alphabetically and contains information on the Harlem River Yard, the Highbridge Community Housing Development Fund Corporation, the Hub Task Force, plans for the development of Melrose Commons and the battle with the South Bronx Churches.
