Sloan Simpson O'Dwyer scrapbooks for 1948 to 1964
Description
The accession contains six scrapbooks created by Sloan Simpson, who was a fashion model and actress. She married William O'Dwyer on December 20, 1949. Mayor O'Dwyer resigned his office on September 2, 1950. He later was appointed U.S. Ambassador to Mexico. O'Dwyer and Simpson were divorced on June 3, 1953. The scrapbooks document Sloan Simpson's life with O'Dwyer and her career. They contain newspaper clippings, magazine articles, programs, playbills, letters, invitations, photographs and other memorabilia. Arranged chronologically.
