Description

The New York City Charter Revision Commission was established by Mayor Edward I. Koch on December 16, 1986, pursuant to his powers under the Municipal Home Rule Law, Section 36 (4). During 1989 and 1990, President of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Nathan Leventhal, served as Secretary to the Charter Revision Commission and as Chairman of the Mayor's Transition Committee. This accession consists of Nathan Leventhal's correspondence and subject files. It includes transcripts of private and public hearings, reports, supplementary publications, pamphlets, clippings, and two bound volumes, "The New York City Charter Revision Commission, A Collection of Documents, November 1986 - December 1989" (Volumes I and II). There is no discernible arrangement.
