Bureau of Preventable Diseases outbreak reports from 1941 to 1965
Description
This accession consists of bound typescripts, with some handwritten notations, of case reports signed by the physician in charge. Each report details the nature of the outbreak, its location, the names of individuals or a general description of those affected, an epidemiology report, including the foods or other contributing factors, an investigation of the sites, a bacteriological examination and analysis of the victims, conclusions and recommendations. The reports are bound in a yearly volume and assigned a chronological number within that year. Some cases were assigned numbers but were not documented in any way beyond references to the diseases involved in the outbreak. There is no index. Arrangement of materials is chronological.
