Sanitation employee and widow pension records
Description
The accession contains employee pensions (PE) and widow pensions (PW). Files typically contain petition for pension, employee's service record, certificates of birth, death and marriage (civil and religious) of the employee and/or widow filed to prove relationship to employee, medical survey, letter from Department granting pension to survivor, and amount of pension. Documents are tri-folded and placed in open-ended envelopes. Envelopes are stamped either, "PE#" or, "PW#". They are filed chronologically according to the date of death of the pension recipient.
