Brooklyn street and highway plans index for 1880 to 1940

Description

This accession contains index cards that correspond to street and highway plans in accession ACC-1998-013 from the Brooklyn Borough President. The drawings are rolled on wooden spindles with a sectional and individual roll number marked on the end of each spindle. The drawings are now arranged in boxes by the sectional number with all roll numbers for the section together. The index is arranged alphabetically by street name (sometimes noting older names) or numerically by street number. Each card indicates between what streets the street section refers to in the plan, the nature of the work done, date, and the plan number by section and roll. The cards are 5 x 8 inches, lined, and are in fair condition, slightly embrittled.
