Description

This accession consists of photographs, negatives, notes, press releases, correspondence, and printed material created by the Department of Transportation's Office of Public Information. The images were created to document operations, meetings, and events for public information purposes, including use in publications, and internal reference. Internal purposes included safety studies, documenting structures for legal liability, and in some instances to document need for repairs. The material is arranged by subject and identified by folder headings which supply the subject, location, and date. The majority of photographs are 8 x 10 inch prints with many negatives attached. There are also contact prints and a small quantity of color photographs. The last box contains oversize photographs.
