Description
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) was the predecessor to the present Department of Housing Preservation and Development and successor to the Housing and Development Administration. Siegel was the General Counsel for HDC and Housing and Development between 1967 and 1973. The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, bills, draft legislation, reports, and clippings. Among Siegel's duties were to prepare the agency's legislative program and the material includes a number of the approximately fifty pieces of legislation generated by the agency in the New York State Legislature each session. The files provide the background of many existing housing statutes constituted during the period. The files are duplicates of official records of this draft legislation maintained by Siegel and her staff at the agency. Arranged chronologically.
