Description

The accession consists of a single booklet. It was prepared by the New York City Omnibus Corporation to describe its school to train transit workers for omnibus operation (in conjunction with the New York Railway Corporation) on City franchised bus lines. The booklet consists of narrative with illustrations concerning the specific areas of the school's operation. It includes two printed instructional pamphlets (24 and 36 pages) as inserts. The booklet is typescript, sixteen pages with fifteen photographs of bus mechanical apparatus inserted as illustrations. A note attached inside the front cover establishes the item's provenance. It is in a paper, school report-style jacket with brass spine fasteners. The pages are also partially glued to affix them to the spine. The booklet may have been prepared in multiple copies in this format. Except for the glue causing some minor staining, the item is in good condition.
