Description

The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, and reports. The material was used by the WNYC Director to oversee operations of radio and television and make station policy. Most of the files are Seymour Siegel's, who served as Director from 1947 to 1971. Some of the in-office correspondence is between Siegel, the Executive Officer John DeProspo, and Program Manager Bernard Buck. Outgoing correspondence is with a wide range of New York City officials, agency heads, and members of the local and national broadcasting community. Included is documentation of the WNYC Film Collection Accession 1984-025. The material is related to the Director's Files that are part of Accession 1984-024.
