Topographical maps of the Bronx and Brooklyn for 1902 and 1909
Description
The accession consists of two maps. The first maps is an original printed map, "Map or plan of the Borough of the Bronx, City of New York, lying easterly of Bronx River," 1902. It was commissioned by the Topographical Bureau of the Bronx Borough President's Office. The map is 63 inches wide on wooden dowels and is in good condition. The second map is an original printed map, "Map of the Borough of Brooklyn, City of New York," 1909 October. It was commissioned by the Topographical Bureau of the Brooklyn Borough President's Office and was "Prepared in accordance...Greater New York City Charter as amended...Laws of 1903." Other information on the map includes: Chas R. Ward, Chief Engineer and Thomas Farrell, Commissioner of Public Works. The map is sectional and is a key to a larger scale topographic map of the borough. The map is 78 inches long by 75 inches wide and is in good condition. The maps were found in collection in storeroom B1 and are stored rolled.
