Description
The Office of State Legislative Affairs represents the Mayor and City Agencies with the New York State Legislature, the Governor, and State Agencies and reviews all state legislation which affects the City of New York. The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, reports, lists of meeting attendees, meeting notices and minutes, copies of proposed legislation and bills, state aid requests, and related legislative documents. The correspondence is primarily with City agency heads and other government officials. The materials are used by the Office to review programs submitted by mayoral agencies for action and to recommend proposed legislation for inclusion in the City's legislative program. The accession is arranged in alphabetical order by name or agency. There is a folder-level inventory for the material prepared in-office.
