Department of City Planning loft rezoning transparencies for 1979 to 1985
Description
In the late 1970s New York City began rezoning loft properties for mixed purposes in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Between 1979 and 1985, the Department of City Planning undertook a photographic survey of some of the areas and buildings in Manhattan and Brooklyn and produced a set of 35 mm slides as documentation. There are approximately 495 slides. The slides were cataloged at item-level and a database was created for them. The slides were also digitized and can be found in the New York City Municipal Archives Online Gallery. Arranged chronologically.
