Description

The material consists of bound volumes, printed material, bylaws, and act of incorporations. They were created by various entities and units within the New York City Fire Department and its predecessors including volunteer companies. Included are: Metropolitan Fire Department special orders (volume), 1862-1869; Mutual Hook and Ladder Company fines and dues (volume), 1853-1865; Volunteer Fireman's Association printed notice, 1889; Roll of Department, Astoria, Queens (volume), 1907; Register of Department, Long Island City, Queens (volume), 1862-1878; Roll of Volunteer Companies, Queens (volume), 1907; Acts of incorporation and bylaws 1861, 1874, and 1879; and a 50th Anniversary of the Fire Department, pamphlet, 1914. The material is in fair to good condition. About half the ledgers has separated bindings. See also Accession 1952-018.
