Description

The Office on Health Policy was established in February 1990 to promote and coordinate New York City health policy. It advised the Mayor on healthcare issues; helped develop policy initiatives; and acted as liaison between community groups and City agencies working in health and mental health. Its first Director was Carmen V. Rivera, who was succeeded by Acting Director Michelle Lord, circa 1991. The correspondence is intra-office; with other members of the Administration, including the Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services and other New York City health care agencies; and with other government, private institutions, and community groups concerned with health care service and delivery.
