District Attorney correspondence and related material pertaining to cases in Kings County in the Court of Special Sessions circa 1915 to 1937

Description

The material consists primarily of correspondence, with some related reports, minutes, and legal documents. Regarding provenance, it was indicated that the material was held by the Court of Special Sessions but there is no direct evidence for that. It is assumed this material is related to Kings County District Attorney cases heard before the Court of Special Sessions. The majority of the material, four cubic feet, is incoming and outgoing correspondence of the District Attorney's Office that is directly related to cases. The number assigned each piece of correspondence appears to be a District Attorney case number. There are some additional materials, approximately one cubic foot, including further correspondence, reports, and minutes that are not arranged numerically and may be other case or reference material from the District Attorney's Office. The numerically arranged correspondence is in roughly chronological order.
