Description

The City Planning Commission was established in 1938 as a successor agency to the Mayor's Committee on City Planning. The accession consists of correspondence, memoranda, notes, plans, blueprints, and printed material. The material consists of three components each comprising one cubic foot: master planning records; Board of Estimate calendar documents, blueprints, and plans; and subject files. The master planning records pertain to slum clearance and housing projects, 1940-1950, and are mostly in paper binders. Arrangement is alphabetical by the name of housing project. The Board of Estimate calendar documents, blueprints, and plans, 1931-1932, were for review by the City Planning Commission and the material is arranged numerically by calendar number. The subject files include individual construction projects, 1931-1933, and are arranged alphabetically by subject.
