The accession consists of handwritten minute books of the Commissioners of the Department of City Works of the City of Brooklyn, 1873-1875. The meetings took place several times a week. Each entry includes the names of the Commissioners that were present at the meeting. The meetings consisted of making and voting on resolutions and appropriations for projects and routine operations (including road construction); street cleaning; garbage collection; and accounts of expenditures. The volumes are in fair to good condition and the bindings are still intact. Arranged chronologically.
