Homicide Bureau record books for 1930 to 1984


Description

The accession consists of bound volumes of records of homicides, 1930-1984. Information includes: name of deceased (victim); name of defendant; date of arrest; manner (of homicide); time and place of assault and death; arresting officer; office assigned (to case); investigation (probably by a member of District Attorney staff); Medical Examiner; Grand Jury action; N.G. (not guilty?) plea; disposition; sentence; justice (presiding); and assistant. Each volume is indexed alphabetically by victim and defendant in separate indexes. The volumes have been microfilmed by the Municipal Archives with the intention of giving the original volumes back to the District Attorney's Office if they desire them back. Arranged chronologically.
