Department of Public Works photographs for 1958 to 1966
Description
The accession consists of 8 x 10 inch black-and-white photographs stored in binders. They document construction projects on streets, bridges, and the waterfront and other features of New York City's infrastructure under the Department of Public Works jurisdiction including the Manhattan and Metropolitan Avenue Bridges. They were produced by contract photographers whose names appear on the verso of each photograph. The binders are generally identified with a contract number and the name of the contract by which the photographs could be arranged by alphabetically by contract/subject. There are approximately 450 photographs in eight binders.
