Franchises and revocable consents indexes circa 1810 to 1990

Accession ACC-2009-120. Unprocessed - RG 014. New York City Council

Description

The accession consists of file card indexes to franchises and revocable consents. There are four sequences. The first is arranged by folder and document number and includes contractor, location of the part of franchise in question (usually a structure) needing action, and summary of action taken. The second is arranged as the first, summarizing the document by contractor and the contents of the document, including maps, referencing the government body originating it when relevant. The third sequence indexes the contract by reference in the New York City Board of Alderman minutes, and possibly other government bodies, indicating modifications to the terms of the franchise and detailing structures. The fourth sequence includes details of the franchise but has an unrecognizable index. There are references to specific Board of Estimate calendar actions in the index. The indexes refer to franchises in Accession 1991-057.
