The accession consists of orders, motions, and other legal documents. They comprise cases made on appeal to the New York State Court of Appeals in Albany on matters arising in various jurisdictions in the City of New York. The cover document indicates the case's presence in the Court of Appeals; the appellant or plaintiff and defendant in the originating case; the type and nature of motion; the date of filing; and sometimes the attorneys involved. The attached documents usually indicate the original court the matter arose in. The motions are arranged in approximate chronological order by filing dates, within a box assigned a given year. That year may be when the case was settled rather than when originally filed. There are no case numbers or other means of access.
