New York County District Attorney files on Albert Anastasia for 1954 to 1963
Description
This accession contains folders with extensive information on family, friends, and rivals of Albert Anastasia, as well as information on the mafia in general, before and after Anatasia's assassination. Included are news clippings on suspected mob activities (i.e. robberies, murders, raids, political and celebrity associations, etc.), transcripts of associates or suspected associates of Anastasia (like Joe DiMaggio) being interrogated by the police, transcripts of possible witnesses to crimes as well as transcripts of wire taps taken on family, friends, and enemies. There are scraps of notes by the detective assigned to the case. Some files are in reverse chronological order and contain background information on figures of interest, such as Joe Adonis, Charles Luciano, Vito Genovese, and Anthony Scotto. Also included are mug shot photographs and negatives. Arranged alphabetically.
