Registry of patent medicines
Description
The accession consists of bound volumes and attachments. It consists of registries of patent medicines whose distribution was successfully applied for by their manufacturers (the applications comprise accession 2010-002). Each certificate contains the registration number(s), date of registration, the manufacturer and the name of the medicine(s) The heading on the forms is a statement that the medicines' ingredients have been registered with the Department pursuant to Section 117 of the Sanitary Code. Occasionally, correspondence from the manufacturer clarifying some matter related to registration is attached. The registries are arranged numerically, which approximates the chronological dates of registration.
