Description
This accession consists of the correspondence, clippings, notes, forms and some legal documents of Eugene Leiman, an assistant district attorney with the New York County District Attorney's Office from at least 1946. He kept subject files to document cases that he, DA Frank Hogan and other staff worked on. Newspaper clippings predominate in these files. The cases concern speakeasies ("Bottle Clubs"), the polio vaccine black market, a drug union strike and various criminal activities on the waterfront. There is also a 1946 case on the constitutionality of special juries that went before the United States Supreme Court. The material is arranged alphabetically.
