Earth Day environmental conference printed materials circa 2006 to 2008

Description

In the spring of 2008, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and District Council 37 sponsored the first Earth Day environmental conference, "Global Warning: 101," for Union members. The main feature was the screening of the 2006 film "An Inconvenient Truth," written and narrated by Vice President Albert Gore. A panel discussion of environmental issues that included DEP personnel, union and labor environmental activists, and university professors followed. The accession consists of conference attendee printed materials and artifacts, primarily provided by DEP, that included brochures and reports, bookmarks, postcards, key rings, and pens, as well as material about the water supply and conservation, sewage treatment, garbage reduction, environmental law, green job creation, global warming, and a conference program. This accession is not arranged in any particular way.
