Description

This accession consists of musters and lists that provide information on individual soldiers, plus proof of their being mustered into the Army for purposes of bounty payments. The Committee's responsibilities included raising an army comprised of volunteers and substitutes for those who did not want to be drafted, and for disbursing bounty payments to these soldiers. This accession was first inventoried in 1977, along with other Civil War-related material that comprise accessions 2010-071 through 2010-079. The material is arranged chronologically and numerically.
