Civil Service Commission minutes, accounts, announcements, and scrapbooks for 1884 to 1910
Description
This accession consists of bound volumes. They cover several areas of the Commission's operations, before and after consolidation. A minute book covers the last period of the Supervisory Board's action before consolidation, spanning 1896-1897. The minutes concern testing and appointing applicants, creating positions, and eligible lists etc. An account book covers expenses from 1884-1911. A record kept by the secretary's office contains published examination announcements from 1896-1910 arranged chronologically and indexed alphabetically by examination title. A scrapbook of clippings calls for civil service reform around the time of consolidation.
