World Trade Center attack memorial service ephemera for 2010


Description

On September 11, 2010, Mayor Bloomberg held a memorial service at Ground Zero for the victims of the World Trade Center attacks. Family and friends gathered at the service and placed assorted memorabilia into a reflecting pool placed on a partially completed section of the permanent WTC memorial. Included are American flags; ribbons; flowers; an religious items including a rosary, greeting cards, fliers, patches, posters, photographs, photo buttons, mass cards, candles, a stuffed toy, and other material. The artifacts are placed in cubic foot boxes and oversized boxes. A portion of the paper materials is soiled, water stained, and torn. There is no arrangement scheme for this accession.
