Ebbets Field home plate circa 1957
Description
This accession consists of a home plate from Ebbets Field in Brooklyn. In his capacity as a city official as the Brooklyn Borough President, Marty Markowitz received the original Ebbets Field home plate as a souvenir of the long-since demolished baseball field. Markowitz subsequently donated this item to the Brooklyn Historical Society (BHS) and BHS then donated it to the Municipal Archives.
