Scope and Contents
Mayor Hylan’s scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings that comprehensively document the daily activities of city government as written by the press. Clippings were usually sourced by office secretaries, who were responsible for assembling and maintaining the scrapbooks, or via a clipping service (known today as a media monitoring service).
