World Trade Center site memorabilia from memorial services held in 2007


Description

On September 11, 2007 Mayor Michael Bloomberg held a memorial service at the World Trade Center site for the victims of the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001. Family and friends gathered at the service and placed assorted memorabilia into and around an approximately sixteen-sided reflecting pool with two square insets on the North Tower footprint of the World Trade Center. Included are American flags; ribbons; artificial and natural flowers and floral arrangements; cloth batches; candles; greeting cards; empty beer cans; fliers; posters; photographs; photo buttons; Mass cards; stuffed toys; tee shirts; and other material. The paper and photographic material were placed in half cubic foot boxes and oversized boxes. The artifacts were placed in cubic foot boxes and oversize boxes. A portion of the paper materials are soiled, water stained, and torn.
