Scope and Contents

The series consists of records documenting several programs for teacher study and travel. The largest group relate to the High School Teacher Fellowship Program of the Fund for the Advancement of Education, a program of the Ford Foundation. Another file relates to the Fund for Adult Education, also a Ford Foundation program. Several files relate to the Harvard Graduate School of Education scholarship program in educational administration. A single file relates to a program of group travel abroad for teachers.

Portions of the records are files of Associate Superintendent Edmund Gannon, who appears to have assumed responsibility for these programs after Jacob Greenberg was promoted to Deputy Superintendent.
