This series of Departmental Correspondence consists of correspondence, invitations, memorandum, daily meeting notes, and calendar entries. The correspondence is organized by departmental title listed alphabetically. Each department within the government of the city is represented in this series. Mayor La Guardia’s office schedule and appointment calendar pages are reflected throughout the series.
The series represents a comprehensive view of the interaction between individual departments, their departmental heads and the Mayor’s office. The Mayor’s various secretaries were responsible for a majority of the interoffice correspondence available in this series. The series accurately tracks the daily workings of the City Hall environment.
