Scope and Contents
Before Fiorello La Guardia’s tenure as Mayor of the City of New York, he served as Congressman for the Twentieth Congressional District in Manhattan for ten years, from 1922-1932. This series represents correspondence between Congressman La Guardia and his various constituents. It represents a variety of subjects and is alphabetically organized by such. The vast majority of material in this series consists of requests for jobs, favors, or intercessions on immigration requests.
